'How to' lunches

Monmouth Priory from 11.30 to 2.00 on Fridays

‘How to’ lunches are currently on hold. Please sign up for my newsletter, Kather’s Kitchen Facebook page and Instagram for recipes and food inspiration!

During each session, I will demonstrate a number of recipes all based around a broad theme. Guests will be given recipe sheets and offered tea and coffee whilst sitting back to enjoy the demonstrations – and there may sometimes be the opportunity for you to come and assist, should you wish! At the end of the demo, we will all sit down together for a relaxing lunch when everyone can try all the food prepared during the demo.

£30 per session

I will be adding new dates to the diary as soon as possible. Please sign up for the newsletter if you’d like me to email you with the new dates as soon as they’re available.

Monmouth Cookery Club, lunch club, Monmouth, Kather's Kitchen

“I have enjoyed all the Cookery Clubs immensely. I don’t get to eat out these days so our lunches are such a treat, with the lovely, smiling Claudia doing all the chores and spoiling us rotten. I’m so glad I followed what – for me – seemed like an extraordinary impulse to sign up for the entire series of classes. This afternoon I told someone I was learning so much, like how to chop an onion and crack an egg. She looked at me as if I was slightly cracked myself but anyone who’s been on the course will appreciate what I mean! Thank you Kather for sharing your time and energy and experience and talent. I do appreciate it.”Jaye

“I did the canapé session with Kather’s Kitchen on Friday 4th December in St Briavels.  I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it.  We made 5 different canapés and Kather even demonstrated how to make beetroot cured salmon with dill, fennel and tarragon.  The filo cups and bread croustades which she demonstrated for the bases of the fillings were quick and easy.  All of the fillings which we were made by the group were absolutely delicious and innovative.  My favourite was the crab & mango spoons with lime, ginger & coriander which I will be making as a starter on Christmas day. Kather’s teaching methods are excellent – she is highly organised and extremely professional. I will certainly return to take more of her courses in the New Year. We ate our delicious canapés after the session and we sat down to soup, bread and chicken liven parfait, which Kather had already made and brought in for our lunch, finishing with a Christmas muffin and coffee. Needless to say, it all tasted superb and was a very special treat. Many thanks once again for such a great morning.” Madeleine

“Just to say I really enjoyed myself today – fantastic food and really well organised!! It was also just a lovely space to get to know new people.” Steph

“I really enjoyed the vegetarian cookery club and learned a lot; the recipes were excellent and so different from the usual cheese and/or pastry that is so often a large part of veggie dishes.” Susan

“Thank you so much for yesterday’s cookery club. It is such good fun to do and to learn something new and to meet such a good crowd of fellow cooks. I look forward to the next one.” Sue

“Thank you very much for a great few hours learning about making pasta. I was a complete pasta-making virgin but you made it straightforward and completely do-able, for which many thanks. The flavours were stunning; from the butternut squash and taleggio to your homemade basil, mint and parsley pesto. Will definitely be making at attempt at both of those.” Claire

“Thank you for an exceptional session today – I learned so much! It was informative, fun, well-paced…and delicious!!” Jaye

“I’m so glad I could bag a plaice on your (fish) course! Seriously it was great, and I am thinking who I can unleash the cumin crusted deliciousness on to soon.” Emily

“Thank you so much Kather – such a brilliant day. I’m going to make the bream tonight. You are a wonderful teacher! I’m already looking forward to the next course.” Laura

“So enjoyed the day. I for sure will be making the dishes soon so I won’t forget how to do it. Already looking forward to the vegetarian day dishes.” Rebecca

“Thanks Kather. It was a great day and can’t believe how much we learnt in such a short time. We had the haddock chowder for supper and everyone finished their bowl!” Rae

“Thank you for a fantastic cookery class today. I now have the knowledge to cook a joint of meat properly thanks to your instruction today. My family are looking forward to the chicken and pancetta which l am going to cook tomorrow. Lovely village hall and friendly people. I had a lovely time. Look forward to the pastry class in a couple of weeks.” Lucy

“I just wanted to let you know that I think the cookery clubs so far have been thoroughly informative and very enjoyable. Not being a ‘natural’ chef I am being inspired and although I haven’t got round to recreating the recipes I at least feel confident that I could if I so wished! I was delighted to hear that you will be continuing the cookery club in 2016 as not only are they great fun, they are also very sociable as everyone attending has been lovely. So well done for all your hard work, and Claudia’s, and I look forward to the pastry session in a couple of weeks.” Clare
